Rainbow likes Moeller as Staff Member of the Year

MADISON – After working for Madison City Schools for 16 years, Cindy Moeller has the title of Staff Member of the Year at Rainbow Elementary School.

“I was born in Maine. I did live outside of Boston for a short time; I guess that is why I am a Patriots fan,” Cindy said.

She spent most of her childhood in Connecticut. One of her first jobs was unit secretary at Bridgeport Hospital in Connecticut.

“After my husband graduated from college, we moved to Orlando, Fla. Then, I stayed at home with my sons,” she said. The Moellers moved to Madison in 1986 and have lived here “except for 2007 and 2008 when my husband’s job sent us to Rome, Italy,” Cindy said.

Her association with Madison City Schools started as an office volunteer at Liberty Middle School when her daughter was in eighth grade. “That led to a clerical aid position for a year. I transferred to Rainbow when it opened,” Cindy said.

With her job at Rainbow, Cindy enjoys working and helping the students. Her duties include answering telephones calls, greeting parents when they visit Rainbow, recording attendance and compiling student data.

Her husband Paul works as an engineer for Lockheed Martin. The Moellers have three children, one granddaughter and a dog named Lexie.

“All of our children are Bob Jones High School graduates,” Cindy said. Michael graduated in 2000, and Andrew followed the next year. Their daughter Kristi is a member of the Class of 2005.

“I enjoy running and cycling,” Moeller said. “My favorite pastime is relaxing with my husband of 36-plus years.”
