American Legion Baseball batting up

MADISON – The 2017 season for Alabama American Legion Baseball is underway.

American Legion Baseball is a national institution, having thrived through a world war, several national tragedies and times of both great prosperity and great despair. The association’s alumni base includes more than half of current major league baseball players.

American Legion Baseball is one of the most prominent and tradition-rich amateur athletic leagues in existence, according to spokesperson Dr. Marie Mallory with Irons Media Group.

The league still stands behind the traditional values from its foundation in 1925. “American Legion Baseball has taught hundreds of thousands of young Americans the importance of sportsmanship, good health and active citizenship,” Mallory said.

In addition, the program promotes equality and making teammates out of young athletes, regardless of their income levels or social standings. “American Legion Baseball has been, and continues to be, a stepping stone to manhood for millions of young men who have gone on to serve their country or community, raise families or play the sport at the highest level,” Mallory said.

Alabama American Legion Baseball is looking for individuals or businesses who are interested in sponsoring an organization with such a proven track record of helping young men succeed, she said.

Packages are available with various reward levels as the association’s way of expressing appreciation for the support. For more information, visit alabamaamericanlegionbaseball.com and click “Sponsor.”

“Do you have a product or service you would like to showcase to hundreds of potential targeted customers?” Mallory said. “We would love to have you set up as a vendor at our state tournaments.”

Multiple packages are available. To register, visit alabamaamericanlegionbaseball.com and click “Vendor Registration.”
