Crosby, 74, lives dream on stage as ‘Ms. Wheezy’

MADISON – As a 74-year-old senior citizen, Mary Louis King Crosby has fulfilled her lifelong dream by pursuing a career in acting. And her associates say that Crosby is taking Alabama by storm.

Crosby shared a condensed version of her stage show at Madison Senior Center on Dec. 13.

Crosby has created the theatrical character, “Ms. Wheezy, a feisty yet comical matriarch who takes care of everyone’s business while making plenty of mistakes along the way,” her manager Susan Alton Johnson said.

Crosby launched her career after connecting with her current manager, Susan Alston Johnson. “Through perseverance, commitment to her craft and faith, Ms. King Crosby set out on a journey to develop her character, ‘Ms. Wheezy,'” Johnson said.

In July 2016, Crosby, as ‘Ms. Wheezy,’ performed her inaugural show during a children’s segment of a festival headlined by gospel duo, Mary Mary.

At Madison Senior Center, Ms. Wheezy performed a skit about her trip to visit President Donald Trump. Waiting at the bus stop, Ms. Wheezy tells others that she already had visited Washington D.C. to meet with “Rack ‘n ‘Chell.” (former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama)

During her flight, Ms. Wheezy mistakes a male flight attendant’s help with fastening a seat belt, as she screams, “Sexual haairissment, sexual haairissment.” (harassment) In Washington, Ms. Wheezy stands in a long line waiting to see the president. She insists on talking to President Trump about “Social sec-irity. We need more money because it’s cold and we need to buy Long Johns.”

Crosby’s show at the senior center was a precursor to the launch of “Ms. Wheezy’s Coming to Town,” her 2018 Alabama tour. The tour’s first stop will be in Birmingham on Jan. 13 when Ms. Wheezy tackles the subject of bullying with her hit sketch, “Ain’t No Bullyn ‘Round Here!” during a private event for Chosen Girls Rock.

A native of Alabama, Crosby currently lives in Huntsville.

For booking information, call 256-886-8180 or email Susan@Alstongrp.com. Ms. Wheezy’s new website release and campaign launch for social media will be held on Dec. 28.
