Madison Market segues to Taste the Spirit of Madison

MADISON – Residents can enjoy a full day of entertainment and amusements on April 14, opening with Madison Market during the day and Taste the Spirit of Madison for the evening.

Insanity Complex, 100 Skate Park Drive will host the events. Madison Chamber of Commerce and Mangia Italian Restaurant are presenting Taste the Spirit of Madison.

Madison Market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. will give 50-plus vendors a venue to present merchandise, including crafts, jewelry, clothing and pet supplies. Visitors can learn about business and civic services, such as insurance, marketing, education, martial arts, apartment complexes and churches.

Shoppers can browse gift ideas for graduation, Mother’s Day, teacher gifts and birthdays.

“This event is free. Come shop, be entertained and, when you get hungry, visit the food trucks O’Taste & See BBQ, I Love Bacon and Sweet Temptations,” chamber executive director Pam Honeycutt said.

Insanity Complex will run skate and mini-golf specials all day. Madison City Community Orchestra will perform from 11 a.m. to noon. Alexander’s Martial Arts will demonstrate skills at 12:30 p.m.

During Madison Market, visitors can buy tickets for Taste the Spirit of Madison that evening from 6 to 9 p.m. “Ticketholders can sample culinary delights, draft beer from local breweries, listen to the music of Groove, purchase raffle tickets and bid on silent auction items,” Honeycutt said.

Taste the Spirit of Madison will assemble trendy new restaurants and breweries to perennial hometown favorites. Guests can sample bites from Beignet Cafe, Chicken Salad Chick, Costco, Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, Mangia Italian Restaurant, Mia’s Cafe, Rick’s Barbecue, SunDrop Bottling Co., Taziki’s Mediterranean Cafe, Ted’s Bar-B-Q, Tellini’s Italiano, Urban Cookhouse, What’s Popp’N and more.

Supreme Beverage, featuring Old Black Bear, Blue Pants Brewery and more will host the sample brews. “No matter what your tastes, there’s something for everyone to enjoy at this event,” Honeycutt said.

Advance tickets to Taste the Spirit of Madison are $20 and available at Madison Chamber of Commerce. Tickets will cost $25 at the event. Call 256-325-8317 or visit madisonalchamber.com.
