Blood drive planned at St. John on April 21

MADISON – St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1057 Hughes Road in Madison will host a blood drive on April 21.

Knights of Columbus, Assembly 2420, at St. John in conjunction with American Red Cross will sponsor the blood drive from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the church basement.

“Almost every week, we are reminded that supplies of blood are in very short supply,” blood drive coordinator John Horch said. “On April 21, Knights of Columbus will continue its 21st consecutive year of bimonthly blood drives.”

“Over the past 20 years, we have collected over 4,900 pints of blood,” Horch said. “Once again, we ask for the support of current, former and new donors in our effort to provide the gift of life to those in need of blood and blood products,” he said.

To schedule an appointment, donors should visit Red Cross’ website, redcrossblood.org. For Sponsor Code, type “stjohns” for the location. Select an appointment from the available times.

“On the day of the drive, go to the RapidPass page to enter your history information. This saves time at the drive,” Horch said.

“We thank donors for your cooperation. And those who will receive your donated blood are eternally grateful,” he said.
