Senior vets to ‘Dance with the Stars and Stripes’ on Oct. 12

MADISON – Forever Young Senior Veterans of Alabama will host “Dance with the Stars and Stripes” on Oct. 12.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. The event will close at 10:30 p.m. Guests will gather for the event at Redstone Harley-Davidson, 15100 Hwy. 20 W. in Madison, directly off Exit 3, Greenbrier, on I-565.

“Huntsville’s In the Mood” ‘Big Swing’ Band will entertain with live music for dancing. LawLers Barbecue will cater dinner for the event. Guests can buy wine and beer from Yellowhammer Brewing.

Forever Young Senior Veterans of Alabama is a wish-granting organization for veterans older than 65 years. The organization provides healing and hope for these heroes and offers trips of honor and local support.

Organizers expect up to 50 veterans of World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam War to attend. Guests can sit down, talk with the veterans and hear stories firsthand from real-life American heroes.

Event proceeds will benefit veterans older than 65 years who will be travel on one of three “Trips of Honor” in 2019 — to Normandy for the 75th anniversary of D-Day; Belgium for the 75th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge; and Italy to revisit sites where these veterans served.
