Madison County Courthouse closes due to COVID-19

HUNTSVILLE – The Madison County Courthouse will close effective immediately and until further notice due to the COVID-19 virus. Officials say this unprecedented and preventative measure is being taken to ensure the health and safety of all Madison County residents and employees.

“Please refer to your local District Commissioner for specific details regarding operations and office hours,” A press release announcing the closure stated. “You can find their contact information listed on the Madison County website and social media.”

Essential county service departments will remain fully operational during the closure. These departments include Water, Sanitation, Public Works, Inspection, and Information Technology. The Madison County Sheriff’s Department and Madison County Jail will continue to operate as usual.

“We encourage Madison County residents to utilize available county on-line services to access information, pay bills, or engage in county business when possible,” read the press release. “We also encourage everyone to monitor the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), The Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH), and other public resources to receive information and instructions on this developing situation.

Madison County officials said they notify citizens of any significant changes to county services through the media as necessary.
