School district works to prepare schools, students for long shutdown

School officials say it’s been a challenging couple of days for Madison City Schools ramping down for the long school shutdown.

Though the students are now gone, schools were bustling Tuesday checking out chromebooks and portable WiFi devices to students who don’t have them at home. Cafeteria program workers handed out grab-n-go lunches at several schools.

Maintenance workers did deep cleans at the schools in tandem with principals, admins and other workers.

In a Facebook post by the school district, it said everyone is taking things all in stride. And there’s been a great display of gratefulness from families.

The school district also posted several photos showing some of the activities yesterday at the schools:

Disinfectant spray applications like this are being done throughout all Madison City Schools.
