Madison County Courthouse and satellite locations to reopen today

HUNTSVILLE After being closed since mid-March, the Madison County Courthouse is reopening today.

The Madison County Commission announced last week they will reopen all County facilities to public access today, May 4, including the Madison County Courthouse, district offices and satellite locations.

Madison County-owned community and recreation centers remain closed to the public.

County officials said signage and prompts will visually display the requirement of cloth face coverings, hand sanitizing, and social distancing. In facilities with line queuing for services, indicators are positioned to demonstrate the required six-foot separation. In facilities with seating for residents, seating is adjusted to allow for six-foot separation.

There are some new guidelines to following if you plan to visit one of these facilities. Officials said residents and employees must:

  • Wear personal cloth face coverings to enter, and always while in publicly accessible areas of Madison County facilities
  • Sanitize hands upon facility entry prior to security screening
  • Maintain six feet of physical distancing. In instances where physical distancing cannot be maintained (I.e. in elevators) a personal cloth face covering will be required.

Residents are also encouraged to continue utilizing the county’s website – www.madisoncountyal.gov – to access information and conduct county business.
