Man killed in motorcycle wreck at Hwy. 72 and Jeff Road
HUNTSVILLE – Huntsville Police said one person is dead after a motorcycle wreck at the intersection of Hwy. 72 and Jeff Road Thursday night.
HPD Lieutenant Michael Johnson said John H. Howard, 51, of Ardmore passed away from injuried he sustained in a one-vehicle crash around 11 p.m. He said Howard was driving a 2012 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide westbound on Hwy. 72 when he left the roadway to the right and struck a culvert head-on.
Howard was transported to Huntsville Hospital for treatment due to injuries sustained in the crash, but was later pronounced deceased in the emergency room.
Lt. Johnson said alcohol, along with aggressive operation, is believed to be a factor.
The traffic crash is currently being investigated by the Huntsville Police Department.
