Delta adding nonstop flights to Indy for title game

Delta Airlines announced on Monday that it has added one-time service with nonstop flights from Huntsville to Indianapolis International Airport for the College Football Playoff Championship Game on Monday. They are also offering nonstop flights from Birmingham and Savannah, GA.

Alabama will square off with Southeastern Conference foe Georgia, which lost 41-24 to the Crimson Tide a month ago in the SEC title game.

The one-time service will fly out of Birmingham, Huntsville and Savannah on Jan. 8.

“Delta literally has its eye on the ball with this one-time service opportunity for fans wanting to come join the excitement and fun rivalry in Indy that is sure to energize this much-hoped-for rematch of two titan college football teams,” said Indianapolis Airport Authority Executive Director Mario Rodriguez.

Returning flights are scheduled for Jan. 11, which is the day after the championship game.

The Indianapolis Airport Authority anticipates more than 100,000 fans will converge on the city leading up to Monday’s championship game at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Information about Delta’s one-time service flights, ticket prices and reservations can be found at delta.com.
