Madison Garden Club to offer choice finds at Plant Sale

MADISON – The Madison Garden Club Plant Sale has returned.

Because of COVID-19’s threat, the plant sale in the last two years has been held but the event had a low-key atmosphere. Not so for 2022, according to club members.

The club’s plant sale for 2022 will be held on May 7 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. – or until customers buy all the plants.

The location for the sale is 105 Cambridge Trail in Madison, the home of Melissa and Sandy Kirkindall.

To reach the Kirkindall home, from U.S. 72, drive south on Hughes Road. Across from Discovery Middle School’s parking lot, look for signs for “Stoneridge subdivision.” Turn left (east) on Lynnbrook Boulevard. Proceed to Woodland Trail, and turn left (north) and then right (east) on Cambridge Trail. Go to the third house of the left, which is 105 Cambridge Trail.

In addition, for motorists who are driving north on Hughes Road, turn right (east) at the signs placed at Discovery for Stoneridge. Then, follow the directions in the preceding paragraph.

“We will have a good variety of plants for spring and summer,” Kirkindall said. “Our inventory is already over 600 plants and counting.” Most plants in this sale were growing in the lawns of members of Madison Garden Club, and members are sharing their inventory. As a result, all plants are suitable for the climate of the Tennessee Valley.

Club members will have gathered trees and shrubs, perennials for both sun and shade, peppers, tomatoes, herbs and indoor plants.

Madison Garden Club will use the proceeds that are raised from the plant sale to fund events and projects to help improve and beautify public spaces in the City of Madison.

The Madison Garden Club was founded in 1962. Club meetings usually are held in homes of club members.

Anyone who is interested in making landscape improvements for a more attractive community can join the club. Membership forms will be available at the sale.
