Honorable mention in Class 7A featured two Patriots from Bob Jones in Jackson and Sanders. For Jackson, who was starting quarterback for the team that finished the 2024 season 6-5, 4-3 with a first-round playoff loss to Auburn 63-27, the southpaw passer was 188/304, 2,570 yards with 32 TDs and 6 interceptions. For the Class 4A Madison Academy Mustangs, who rallied with a record 7-5, 6-2, but fell in the second round of the post-season action to West Morgan 28-7, two mainstays for the team’s defense made First-Team All-State. Rice, a Mississippi State signee, who completed his high school career with an outstanding performance in the elite Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic, had an outstanding 2024 season with 125 tackles and thus being selected All-State for the second consecutive season. He is among the finalists for the Class 4A Lineman of the Year Award. Green was selected as a defensive back after he posted 63 tackles and had 6 interceptions, but for the Mustangs he was much more than a DB. Madison Academy running back Williams was a Second- Team selection after he posted 219 carries for 1,764 yards and 16 touchdowns.
