Leah Green is ‘Employee of the Month’ at Madison Hospital

MADISON – Madison Hospital recognizes an “Employee of the Month” for exceptional job performance, positive interactions with patients and healthy association with colleagues during workdays. Leah Steele was selected Employee of the Month for October 2025.

Steele’s nomination was a special honor because not one but three coworkers submitted separate nomination forms for Steele, who works as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department.

Steele’s peers wrote anonymous nominations that highly praised her work and attitude:

• “This employee is always willing to help a fellow co-worker — no matter the situation — and is an inspiring role model to all her fellow coworkers. No one in the Emergency Department is more caring and empathetic towards everyone around her. This employee is a nurse and a person that I aspire to be like every day. Madison Hospital is lucky to have this person as an employee.” above and beyond for all her patients. This person is always smiling and willing to help at all times, no matter the circumstances. She is someone I look up to.”

• “This employee is amazing and overall one of the best coworkers to work with. I don’t know a more compassionate or caring person inside or outside of the workplace.”

Steele wanted to work at Madison Hospital because she always heard positive feedback for the facility, along with complimentary comments about excellent care that the staff provides.

“I have been at Madison Hospital Emergency Room since I graduated from nursing school in 2021,” Steele said.

Learning about her selection as Employee of the Month, Steele “was so excited and shocked. I try to always give my all every day at work.”

The best component about her job is her group of peers. “I love my coworkers, and I love how Madison Hospital is like a second family,” Steele said.

After work, Steele reflects on the experiences of her day. “On my drive home, I decompress and think about what I could have done differently and try to think about the positive impact that I made on my patients that day,” she said.

She is married to Jordan Steele, who works as an engineer for the Tennessee Valley Authority. “I have two children: Cody Scott, who is 19 years old, and my daughter is Cali Scott, and she is 14,” Leah said.
