A man was stabbed in the back by an acquaintance in the back just before 3 a.m. Wednesday morning at the Mapco gas station in Harvest at Highway 53/Jeff Road after the two got into an argument over Alabama football, according to deputies.
Eric Slagle has been booked into the Madison County Jail and charged with second degree assault.
The store clerk said mayhem erupted after the argument and stabbing. Deputies said Slagle took off and they found him about an hour later less than three miles from the gas station.
They have not identified the victim, who is expected to make a full recovery.
