MADISON – Employees of a Madison-based company showed their community spirit with two projects on April 11.
Signalink Inc. employees volunteered with CASA (Care Assurance System for Aging and Homebound of Madison County) to build a ramp for a homebound elderly individual in Hazel Green. CASA has provided services to elderly and homebound individuals since 1979.
Signalink employees and their relatives met with Mike Self, CASA’s ramp coordinator, for instructions and guidance. “These projects not only assist with the person in need of the ramp, but (the work) increases our team bonding and strength, as well,” Signalink Business Operations Manager Heath Oliver said.
“I thought it was a lot of fun and it made me feel good to help other people,” eight-year-old volunteer Ben Lessmann said.
Also that day, Signalink participated in the Coldwater Autism Awareness Ministry Barbecue Cook-off in Fayetteville, Tenn. “Signalink proudly had employees volunteer to compete and judge in this event,” Alice Lessmann said. She works as facility security officer for Signalink.
Other Signalink volunteers in Hazel Green were Adam Willmon of Brownsboro; Tim Friend, Athens; Heath Oliver, Huntsville; Christa Sinyard, Rogersville; and John Stoner and Steve Lessmann, Madison.
In Fayetteville, Signalink workers included Matt Laski, Grant; Jason Hyche, Arab; and Deliah Graham, Madison.
In October 2014, Signalink employees helped to build a Habitat for Humanity home in north Huntsville.
Founded in 2006, Signalink is a veteran-owned small business with core competencies in infrastructure, integration, interoperability, cyber security and software engineering.
