Donors can help at St. John’s blood drive

MADISON – Knights of Columbus, Assembly 2420 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1055 Hughes Road in Madison, is sponsoring a blood drive.

The event, which is the group’s regular bi-monthly blood drive for American Red Cross, is planned for April 20 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the church basement.

For an appointment, visit redcrossblood.org. In the “Zip/Sponsor Code” box, type “35758” for the zip code, and click “MAKE YOUR APPOINTMENT.” At the left of the next window, select St. John’s blood drive. Choose the appointment time, and then indicate the type of donation.

“The need for blood in Alabama and the nation is constant, and especially so in the wakes of the hurricanes and this increased travel season,” blood drive coordinator John W. Horch said. “Your participation is greatly appreciated by the Red Cross and St. John’s Knights of Columbus, but, most of all, by those who need blood because of accident or illness.”

“Please take a few minutes out of your busy schedule and give the gift of life,” Horch said.

For more information, call St. John’s office at 256-722-0130 or Horch at 772-3280 or visit stjohnbchurch.org.
