Madison County Courthouse to reopen Monday

MADISON – Madison County Commission Chairman Dale Strong said the Madison County Courthouse will reopen Monday, May 4. It has been closed since mid-March in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.

IN a press release, the Madison County Commission stated they are planning to resume courthouse, district, and satellite office operations, and will announce the re-opening date of County facilities for public access by the close of business Friday.

There will be some new guidelines the public must follow at all county facilities. They include:
• Wear personal cloth face coverings to enter and at all times while in publicly accessible areas of Madison County facilities
• Sanitize hands upon facility entry prior to security screening
• Maintain six feet of physical distancing. In instances where physical distancing cannot be maintained (I.e. in elevators) a personal cloth face covering will be required.”

Madison County residents are still encouraged to continue utilizing online services through www.madisoncountyal.gov. “Additionally, we encourage everyone to continue monitoring the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), The Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) and other public resources to receive health-related information on COVID-19,” the press release said. “Madison County will continue to notify citizens of any significant changes to County services through our website and social media. As always, the safety and security of our residents and employees remain our top priority.”
