Chamber to host annual “Celebrate Madison” Thursday at Toyota Field

MADISON – The atmosphere at “Celebrate Madison” promises an upbeat night as residents give/ take a good dose of pat-on-the-back praise.

On Oct. 23, Celebrate Madison will start at 6 p.m. at Toyota Field in Town Madison. Madison Chamber of Commerce will serve as host for the free, community-centered time for saluting the city’s progress.

The first 500 partygoers will receive a free hot dog, soda and ice cream.

Presented by META, the evening will feature a Madison-centric program when Mayor Paul Finley delivers a video message for his “State of the City.” “This annual celebration is our pinnacle event of the year and offers numerous opportunities to connect with the community,” Chamber President Michelle Epling said.

Finley will share the latest achievements, projects and updates for Madison. With this unique opportunity, residents can learn about the city’s progress and plans and gain renewed pride in the city.

Along the concourse, guests can explore diverse goods and services from local businesses. Vendors will inform attendees about available products.

Games, musicians and activities along the concourse will entertain guests, especially the children. Celebrate Madison will offer many surprises. Student actors with Fantasy Playhouse Children’s Theatre and Academy will perform.

Guests can take advantage of excellent opportunities for photos. Face painting will add to the party atmosphere.

The winner of the “Military Family of the Year” award will accept their honor on the baseball field. Signalink Inc. of Madison is serving as sponsor for this award. “We will recognize a deserving, local military family for their service and dedication,” Epling said.

Steve and Alice Lessmann, owners of Signalink, have expressed their enthusiasm for Celebrate Madison. “As a veteran- owned business, Signalink is proud to sponsor Celebrate Madison’s Military Family. We understand the sacrifice of not only service members but their families as well,” according to the Lessmans.

“That’s why we count it as a privilege to celebrate and support Military Family of the Year. Their commitment to our country, city and community deserves recognition, and we are glad to play a part in it,” the Lessmans said.

Guests can experience rousing fireworks. “Cap off the evening with a spectacular fireworks show, sponsored by Huntsville Utilities. It’s the perfect way to end a night of celebration and community spirit,” Epling said.
