Bob Jones seniors receive more than $30 million in scholarship offers

Seniors from Bob Jones high School saw major dollars signs this year as the class accepted $11, 893,208 in scholarships.

In all, the class was offered $30.8 million, which covers 53 percent of the 2011 graduating class.

But, the big number Bob Jones principal Robby Parker said needs all the attention is the $11.8 million accepted.

“I’m very pleased with the amount accepted,” Parker said. “What I’m most pleased with is that 53 percent of the class was offered something.”

Parker said another observation is that while Bob Jones “loves” extracurricular activities, it is certainly an academic school.

“We built this school around academics and that’s what we place our faith and money,” he said. “Our teaching staff is exemplary, our students are as well. Again, we’re very pleased they will accept nothing less but excellence.”
