Daniel Crowell Browning September 18, 1933 – February 17, 2014

Daniel Crowell Browning, 80, of Madison, passed away Monday. Mr. Browning, a native of South Carolina, graduated from Georgia Tech in 1955 and served as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force before a lengthy career in the aerospace industry with Lockheed, Chrysler, and Martin Marietta. A life-long Baptist, he was a long-time member of Highlands Baptist Church in Huntsville, and most recently of Trinity Baptist in Madison. He was an avid hobbyist, enjoying radio-controlled model aircraft, tropical fish, and computers.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Irene Chiles Browning; son Daniel C Browning, Jr (Felicia) of Hattiesburg, MS; daughter Cynthia Browning Larsen (Bruce); grandchildren, Sarah B. Etheridge (Russell) and Rachel Browning of Hattiesburg, Elizabeth and Matthew Larsen of Madison; and great-granddaughter, Amelia Etheridge.

The funeral service was held Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home; with Dr. Michael B. Oliver officiating. Burial was at Maple Hill Cemetery, Inc.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
