Madison City Farmers Market to celebrate with ribbon cutting on June 14

MADISON – Madison City Farmers Market will celebrate its new location at Trinity Baptist Church, 1088 Hughes Road with a ribbon cutting on June 14 at 9:30 a.m.

“Our customers and vendors all love the new location,” board of directors chairperson Mary Stallings said. “It has allowed us the growth we needed and the additional parking we required.”

For the special occasion, the Log Cabin String Band will entertain with old-fashioned Southern music dating to the Civil War and World War II eras. The band focuses on Appalachian music with fiddle tunes, ballads, breakdowns and novelty songs.

Shoppers can visit Adair’s Organic Orchard, Green Pastures, Blanks Berry Farm, Brosemer Farm, Campbell Farms, Kress Farms, Six Chicks and a JBird Farms, Reeves Farm, Free Hearts Farm, Humble Heart Farms, Spradlin Farm, Whirlwind Farm, Happy Hen Farm, Talley’s Fruit Farm, Martling Mountain Farm, W&W Farms, Eat Wright Farms and Blackberry Bramble Farm.

These farmers will sell blueberries, blackberries, cucumbers, summer squash, zucchini, green tomatoes, cauliflower, potatoes, green beans, onions, Chinese cabbage, broccoli, cabbage, sugar-snap peas, spinach, kale, collards, beets, arugula, rainbow chard, spring salad mix, green onions, radishes, green garlic and lettuce.

Artisan teas and brews are available from Piper & Leaf. Front Porch Coffee Company and Rooster’s Crow Coffee Roastery sell savory coffees.

Homemade treats abound at Sweet Life Plus Three, Carrie’s Kitchen, Mason Dixon Gluten-Free Bakery, Three Girls & a Hive Honey Farm and London Bread. Ready-to-plant flowers will be sold at Plants & String and Shady Lane Gardens.

Other vendors will include Maz Funny Farm Dairy, Whitt’s Old-Time Canning, Rosita’s, Karen’s Healthy Kitchen and Christina’s Garden Body. Sew What? designs hand-crafted greeting cards. Designer Aprons by Jo, All You Need Is This Breadboard and Earthship Tie-Dye & Fiber Arts will offer their creations.

Farm-to-table dinners to go, sugar-free chocolates, fresh-cut flowers and hanging baskets will be sold.
