HUNTSVILLE – Healthy vegetable plants and ready-for-the-bed flowers will abound at the second annual plant by Master Gardeners of North Alabama.

The sale on April 25 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. will be at the Madison County Extension Office, 819 Cook Ave. in Huntsville.

“Customers will find a wide variety of locally grown and curated perennials, annuals, vegetables, herbs, shade plants, small trees, shrubs and much more, all at very reasonable prices,” Master Gardener Sue Khoury said. Master Gardeners will be onsite throughout the sale to answer questions and recommend plants.

The sale is held in cooperation with Alabama Cooperative Extension System.

Local Master Gardeners have grown most of the plants offered for purchase, sale chairwoman Patsy Connor said. “Some plants are hard to find at local nurseries. Planning and growing for the sale has been ongoing for more than eight months by a dedicated group of volunteers.”

Master Gardeners will use proceeds to fund community service projects throughout Madison County.

“The Master Gardeners of North Alabama organization has a long history of providing educational workshops, hands-on support and horticultural guidance for area schools, civic organizations, senior centers, CASA, beautification and tree boards and Huntsville Botanical Garden,” Khoury said.
