MADISON – Youth of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) in Madison held a food drive to help families in need.
About 30 young men and women paired in teams and drove to LDS members’ homes to collect canned goods and boxed items. “They reached out to the Athens community and provided a Thanksgiving feast for four families in Athens,” publicist Peggy Sue Unander said.
In addition, the teenagers donated hundreds of items to bolster the effort by Madison Elementary School and Liberty Middle School students to collect food for Inside-Out Ministries. “The families and schools appreciated the youth’s donations,” Unander said.
