Tough opening act for Madison Academy

BY SCOTT WRIGHT

Playing without eight varsity players would be tough for any team.

For Madison Academy it proved too much to overcome against Campbell High School out of Smyrna, Georgia. Dontae Scott scored 34 points to lead Campbell to an 85-48 victory at the Elkmont Thanksgiving Tournament.

The Mustangs were lead by Joshua Langford and Zach Bogardus with 16 points apiece. This was a great learning experience for a shockingly young Madison Academy team that started three eighth graders and two sophomores.

The loss cannot leave a bad taste for long as the Mustangs will be back in action on Tuesday against Westminster Christian Academy and Wednesday against Riverside Christian Academy.
