Mustangs pull away late

BY SCOTT WRIGHT

Anytime Madison Academy and New Hope play, it is a battle.

In Friday night’s area basketball contest, the Mustangs used a late run to defeat the Indians 91-62.

The Indians, under the leadership of Coach Joey Parker, clawed and scratched their way back into the game on numerous occasions. An extremely tight first half saw 23 team fouls called and the Mustangs with a slim six-point lead.

On the very first possession of the second half, 8th grader Joshua Langford stole a swing pass and finished at the rim. This would set the tone for the remainder of the game. The Mustangs would never look back and would use a huge 56-point second half to blow away the Indians 91-62. Langford would lead all scorers with 27 points and 12 rebounds.

There is no rest for the weary as Madison Academy hits the floor again tomorrow at West Morgan.
