Families like discounts and deals with Kids Club Alabama

Discounts on museum visits, dining, entertainment and fun activities are all part of the Kids Club Alabama experience.

Kids Club Alabama offers discounts for family entertainment and dining.

A locally owned company, Kids Club Alabama is a member of the Kids Club Association of 60-plus clubs across the United States and Canada. A young Utah mother founded Kids Club when the recession limited her family activities.

Local owners Ron Christian and Faye Robinson want area families “to enjoy more activities with their kids and get outside and away from all the gadgets for the kids … and parents’ health sake.” Their personal experiences with busy schedules and not taking time for their children’s early years influenced their decision.

More than 80 merchants offer discounts to Kids Club Alabama members, such as bounce houses, skating rinks, bowling alleys, sports games, Von Braun Center events, gift and specialty item shops, website design, vehicle oil changes and home remodeling.

Each month, members receive a new card and coupons from restaurants. “The freebies make up for the monthly membership fee. It’s a win/win …  more fun, more food, more places,” Robinson said.

Monthly membership fee is $12 for discounts primarily at Madison County merchants and some in Limestone and Morgan counties, with new merchants added continually.

“My mothering instinct makes it easy to work for our kids,” Robinson said. “They make us tick and are what makes us laugh and cry.”

Christian and Robinson will list merchants on the Kids Club Alabama website with their business’ page at no charge. Merchants must honor their discounts, which can change seasonally or to reflect different services.

“We also offer Surf-N-Kids.com, a safe browser for kids to have email, videos, auctions and educational games,” Robinson said. These memberships usually cost $97 yearly but currently are discounted to $20 by sending email to Robinson.

They plan to eventually expand to cities all the way to the Alabama Gulf Coast. One membership card is valid for the state.
