MADISON — Local trucks will be on display for visitors of all ages May 11.

Sci-Quest Hands-on Science Center will hold its annual Hands-on Trucks event where the center partners with local organizations to bring different trucks and vehicles for visitors to explore.

“Visitors can get behind the wheel and explore a variety of their favorite vehicles and meet the men and women who drive the trucks,” Sci-Quest marketing manager Jennifer Deermer said. “From an ice cream truck to a mobile radar vehicle, Sci-Quest assembles a variety of vehicles for this day of fun.”

Vehicles this year include the Blue Bell Ice Cream truck, the American Red Cross Emergency Response vehicle and a giant crane from Mac’s Crane Service and Erection among others. Representatives from the hands-on museum said it is a great way for children and adults to interact with the vehicles that serve the Madison County area.

“Hands-on Trucks is one of our most popular family events; kids just love being able to climb in the different vehicles and getting that hands-on experience that they have never had before,”  Cyndy Morgan, executive director of Sci-Quest said.

The event will be held at the Huntsville location next to Calhoun Community College from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Admission is included with Sci-Quest general admission. For more information about Hands-on Trucks, visit www.sci-quest.org.
