Street Festival taking entries for poster

MADISON — Break out the easel and paint.

The Madison Street Festival committee announced that they are now taking entries for the official 2013 Madison Street Festival poster.

Artists are invited to submit their own, original works of art based on the theme “Celebrating Madison”. Any and all ages are welcome to participate in the contest that ends at midnight on May 31.

The winner of the contest will be awarded $250 and have their artwork be the official poster of the festival. However there are no losers in the contest.

“All artworks submitted will be exhibited at the Madison Street Festival on Oct. 5 and online at the festival’s official website,”  a press release by the committee read. “All artwork submitted may be used at the discretion of the Madison Street Festival for promotional purposes.”

To submit artwork, visit MSF2013artcontest@gmail.com. Files should be submitted in .jpg format with a 300 dpi and must include the artist’s name, title of the piece, size of original, medium used and an optional statement from the artist. For more information, visit www.madisonstreetfestival.org.
