MADISON – Dr. Tiffany Hendricks is now helping patients at Crestwood Family Practice: Madison Boulevard, located at 8121 Madison Blvd., Suite 101-A.

At nine years old, Hendricks realized she wanted to help people through medicine. During medical school, she was introduced to various specialties. She felt family medicine focused on identifying what’s wrong with the patient — not just finding the disease.

With family medicine, Hendricks can use “a more holistic approach to discovering what is ailing the patient. There are psychological, sociological and biological influences that bring about a disease. Ignoring one or more of those may hinder one’s evaluation.” A family practice physician considers all those factors.

Crestwood Family Practice: Madison Boulevard accepts all patients of all ages. “We do sports physicals, well child visits, Medicare wellness visits, pap smears, EKG and draw labs onsite,” Hendricks said. She manages diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, thyroid disease, asthma, urinary track infections, irregular menses, cuts, sprains and other primary care needs.

Hendricks earned a bachelor’s degree in biology at Spelman College in Atlanta and a medical doctorate degree at Howard University College of Medicine in Washington D.C. She completed the University of Alabama at Birmingham family practice residency at its Huntsville location.

In 2008, she and husband Dr. Malcolm Hendricks opened Hendricks Family Practice in Decatur. She also worked at Urgent Medcare in Madison three years and Apollo Urgent Care in Huntsville one year.

The Hendricks live in Madison. “To make life easier for one of us, I started this practice in Madison. I’m more available for the kids. It’s nice to work closer to home,” she said. The Hendricks’ children are Micah, 5, Amani, 9, and Myana, 16.

She attends Beacon Hill Worship Center in Madison and is actively involved in the praise team and “Saved in the City” women’s Bible study at Alabama A & M University.

Clinic hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
