MADISON — Madison Police officers responded to a bank robbery at Wells Fargo Bank on Madison Boulevard on July 17.
Capt. John Stringer said officers got a call at approximately 9:44 a.m. from a teller at the bank.
“Prior to the call, witnesses and tellers said they were approached by a black male around 6 ft. tall and around 215 pounds. He entered the bank, brandished a small firearm and demanded currency and made it out with an undisclosed amount of currency.”
Stringer said officers are searching for a small black vehicle that could possibly be a Chevy Malibu or Impala without a license plate. The vehicle was last seen traveling east towards Huntsville.
“No damages or injuries,” Stringer said. “Right now investigators are looking over evidence that may help determine the identity of the suspect.”
The suspect may be wearing a black hoodie and may possibly have facial hair. Stringer said if anyone has information leading to an arrest to please call Madison Police at 256-722-7190.
