MADISON – Madison Arts Council (MAC) is inviting people to celebrate summer with a sip-and-paint class at Lily Pond Art Studio.

“Grab a friend, a bottle of wine and join MAC for their upcoming ‘Life’s A Beach’ paint class,” MAC President Shrail Heinrich said.

“Life’s A Beach” will be held on June 10 at 6:30 p.m. The $35 class fee will cover all art supplies. Following the summer theme, class participants will paint a palm tree casting a shadow on a white-sand beach.

Local artist Lisa Riccardi will lead the class. Riccardi enjoys working in multiple media, but her favorite medium is oils. Originally from New York, Riccardi has called Alabama home for eight years.

Riccardi teaches both individual and group classes and offers lesson plans for adults and children. She can conduct classes in student homes, studio or classroom settings.

“Not long ago, I realized that I had been squandering a gift and should do something with it,” Riccardi said. “I used (this talent) to surround myself with images that I liked to look at and as gifts for friends and family.”

However, Riccardi soon discovered “that others wanted me to do the same for them. It has just grown from there.” (lisariccardistudios.com)

“I enjoy sharing with people the tools that they need to express their creative side,” Riccardi said. “It’s a beautiful thing to watch them discover what they can really accomplish.”

Lily Pond Art Studio’s address is 12120 County Line Road, Suite D in Village Shoppes of Madison.
