Blue Pants to host Ian McFeron concert on Thursday

MADISON – Seattle-based rocker Ian McFeron will be in concert at Blue Pants Brewery, 500 Lanier Road on Oct. 16.

This free performance is scheduled for 6 to 10 p.m. McFeron is touring for his album “Time Will Take You,” which he recorded in Nashville. Grammy-nominated Doug Lancio and Patty Griffin produced McFeron’s latest work.

Alisa Milner will join McFeron on stage with her fiddle, cello and harmony vocals. McFeron is involved in his ninth national tour.

His folk-rock album, “Time Will Take You,” includes drummer Brad Pemberton, pedal-steel player Jon Graboff and pianist/organist Micah Hulscher from Ryan Adams and the Cardinals. Norman Baker is bassist and harmony vocalist.

For “Time Will Take You,” McFeron drew from his own touring experiences when he performed up to 170 shows for several years across the United States. “The album maintains stout-hearted positivity while exploring themes of troubled times, hard traveling and a thin pocketbook,” McFeron said.

Fans of John Lennon, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon and Jackson Browne will enjoy his show at Blue Pants, McFeron said.

McFeron also has released a 10-track acoustic album, aptly titled “Acoustic.” He completed this entire undertaking in only two days in Seattle with help from producer Chad Brown of Nashville.

McFeron cited reviewers who have described him as “a wordsmith of quality,” “a great lost (Bob) Dylan song from the mid-1960s” and “an alt-folk/rock/Americana performer who strikes a cool balance between the mellow and the edgy.”
