HUNTSVILLE – United Way of Madison County reported an increase in donations for its 2014 campaign.

“I am proud to announce that, for the first time in five years, the United Way campaign had an increase. This means level funding for our 29 partner agencies for the coming year,” Ron Poteat said.

The 2014 campaign total was $4,828,058.

Poteat, North Alabama Area President for Regions Bank, served as the 2014 and 2015 United Way volunteer campaign chairman. Poteat announced the results at the campaign luncheon at Embassy Suites Hotel on March 19.

More than 180 donors, community volunteers, corporate leaders and United Way partner agencies attended the luncheon.

“I was already receiving calls from companies before I returned from the luncheon that want to start planning their 2015 employee campaign,” director of resource development Claudia Bucher said.

Since 1956, United Way of Madison County has invested almost $100 million throughout the community to those least able to help themselves through investments in education, income stability and health.
