Make a difference by coaching Upward Flag Football

From the Publisher

Coaches are desperately needed for flag football in Madison.

Upward Flag Football and Jeff Dickerson, of First Baptist Church Madison, has scored another successful Upward Flag Football registration for 2015.

“We have over 170 kids participating this summer and only seven coaches and five assistants (for five divisions), most of which are in the first grade division,” Dickerson shared, “We need another 13 head coaches and 15 assistants to volunteer.”

This news is exciting for the league and for these kids registered to play this summer.

The league’s ultimate goal is to help build a stronger community through sports and ministry.

Now, the mission has changed to finding volunteer coaches to help these children have an enriching experience.

The only thing a volunteer coach is asked to provide is his or her time.

“This is a low key, no pressure league and it’s a lot of fun,” Dickerson said. “No experience required and we will train you so please consider coaching.”

This is a great way to get involved in our community and to build new friendships.

An additional benefit to volunteering is the opportunity to develop our youth’s character through recreation.

The chance to help a child succeed and build confidence is a rewarding experience for all involved.

The 2015 Upward Flag Football season is shaping up to be a ton of fun.

Along with our help, it will make for some great memories this summer.
