Cynthia Browning Larsen June 2, 1962 – June 8, 2015

Cynthia Browning Larsen, 53, of Madison, passed away Monday, June 8 after a long and courageous battle with multiple cancers.

Cynthia was born and grew up in Huntsville, graduated from Lee High School in 1980 and UAH in 1984. After working as a Licensed Medical Technologist, she settled into her major role as a devoted wife and mother. She gave herself to numerous civic causes, notably as a band mom at Discovery and Bob Jones schools, where she was the Uniform Chair. Cynthia was a fixture at Asbury United Methodist Church, volunteering in many roles, but will be especially remembered for her long-time leadership in Sunday school and faithful teaching of a women’s Bible study.

She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Crowell Browning and father-in-law, Donald I Larsen. Cynthia is survived by her beloved husband of 28 years, Bruce Eric Larsen; loving children, Elizabeth Danielle Larsen of Birmingham and Matthew Browning Larsen of Madison; mother, Irene Chiles Browning of Madison; brother, Daniel C. Browning, Jr and wife, Felicia, of Hattiesburg, MS; mother-in-law, Eva Mary Larsen of Huntsville; brother-in-law, Christopher N. Larsen and wife, Carol, of Pensacola, FL; four nieces, Sarah B. Etheridge (Russell) and Rachel B. Browning of Hattiesburg, Hanna Larsen and Rebecca Larsen of Pensacola, FL; and one great niece, Amelia C Etheridge.

Visitation was held from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, June 11 at Asbury United Methodist Church in Madison. The funeral service followed at the church with Dr. Alan Weatherly and Rev. John Ryberg officiating. Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery.
