MADISON – CrossPointe Church at 78 Hughes Road earned the 2015 WFX Solomon Award for “Best Church Architect” for Atlanta-based Foreman Seeley Fountain Architecture.

The Atlanta-based Foreman Seeley Fountain Architecture is a full-service design firm specializing in architecture, planning and interior design. The award for CrossPointe was in the category for facilities seating 800 or more.

“Primarily, we had grown to such a point (at the old location) that we were completely out of room, especially in the children’s area and the youth area,” CrossPointe Senior Pastor John Dees said. “The new site is significantly larger for worship and for parking.”

CrossPointe’s new facility has 44,000 square feet and was designed as an inspirational model of symbolism, community and grace, according to the architecture firm. The building gains a significant step for CrossPointe’s mission to promote inclusiveness and community while serving as an expression of the congregation’s faith.

The new building is more than double the size of the former church. Expanded space now is available for programs involving children, youth and adults. Architects intended for the entrance’s gathering space with a soaring two-story atrium to evoke warmth while fostering social interaction and an innovative design.

“Worship Facilities and Church Production Magazine” sponsors the Solomon Awards, a well-respected program that recognizes churches and their partners for excellence in facilities design, building expansion and remodeling, operation excellence, innovative use and technical production. CrossPointe will be featured in an upcoming issue of the magazine.

“Through a collaborative approach with the staff and administration of CrossPointe Church, we were able to achieve our primary objective of designing a worship space that facilitates the mission of the congregation’s expression of faith,” Jerry Fountain said. Fountain is president of Foreman Seeley Fountain Architecture, which is located at 3091 Governors Lake Drive in Peachtree Corners, Ga.
