MADISON – In writing her book, Becky Miller wants to draw the reader into a closer relationship with God.

In addition, she hopes that her book, “God’s Lemonade Stand: 101 Sips to Refresh Your Soul” will “get them into the Bible daily.”

Using that same name or title, Miller has written a daily devotion for seven years. She releases those daily thoughts with blogger, a Facebook page; her Facebook account; and an email distribution list.

“This book came out of all that and my longtime desire to write a book,” Miller said. “I worked with a professional editor from Arizona two years ago to hone my skills. These 101 devotions have never before been released on my God’s Lemonade Stand blog.”

“Not knowing exactly which route to go in the self-publishing realm, someone suggested a book, ‘From Idea To Published’ by former Madison resident Ronald Long,” Miller said. “Once I finished this book, I was well on my way to knowing how to get my project complete.”

She worked with Draft2Digital and Create Space for the finished products in both e-book and paperback form. Released on April 27, Miller’s book is available at Amazon.com.

Miller started writing after a job layoff with Delta Air Lines in 2008. Born in Ohio, Miller has lived in Tennessee Valley since 1999 when the U.S. Army transferred her family from Mesa, Ariz. Her husband is retired Col. Dave Miller.

Becky served six years in the Army, also. “My best-ever job was being a stay-home mom.” Their sons are Matt, 33, of Chicago and Jon, 31, of Boise, Idaho, both graduates of Bob Jones High School. Jon’s wife Amber is an Arab native.

Miller will conduct her first public book signing at Grounded Coffee, 12120 County Line Road in Madison on June 4 from 9 to 11 a.m. Anyone with access to Redstone Arsenal can attend a second book signing on June 15 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Main Exchange.
