Enderton cherishes Madison’s ‘aloha’ welcome

MADISON – After growing up in Hawaii, Angie Enderton missed how everyone was so welcoming and made you feel comfortable and like family. “I’ve found that here — but the Southern version,” she said.

“I love Madison City. The people here are so caring and so nice. I describe it as the ‘Southern aloha,'” Angie said.

Compared to other cities, Madison “is different in its own wonderful way. The culture, traditions and history are amazing to learn, even the language,” she said.

Angie was born in New York but grew up in Hawaii. “My husband Chris Enderton is in the U.S. Army and that’s what brought us here,” Angie said. They have one son, Kai, and one daughter, Moana.

She served in the U.S. Army Reserve for eight years. After Basic Training, she went to Fort Jackson, S.C. and Fort Gordon, Ga. for Signal Corps Advanced Individual Training.

Angie volunteered as PTA President for three years at West Madison Elementary School and continues active involvement with the organization. “I do it to be involved in my children’s lives,” she said. “I love helping the PTA and the school whenever they need me.”

“I feel like I’m bored when I’m not doing something for the school,” Angie said. “It also helps me understand the school system.”

Self-employed, Angie works as an independent consultant with Thirty-One Gifts and LuLaRoe. “I enjoy Chinese and Hawaiian music. I love Disney music in Chinese. Hawaiian music relaxes me,” Angie said.

When dining out, Angie likes to enjoy a meal at Casa Blanca, Taziki’s, Smashburger or Tai Pan.

The Endertons have several pets — two dogs, a turtle and several fish.

“We like to spend time and do things as a family, especially hockey. We are passionate Huntsville Havoc fans. Also, we love to travel,” Enderton said.
