Par 3 Shootout tourney to help autism foundation

HUNTSVILLE – The 2017 Par 3 Shootout Charity Golf Tournament on Sept. 8 will be held at Hampton Cove Golf Club on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail.

This event serves as the Autism Resource Foundation’s annual fundraiser.

A 501(c)3 non-profit organization, Autism Resource Foundation in Huntsville fights the epidemic of Autism Spectrum Disorder / Pervasive Developmental Delay that is devastating many children and their families. “We provide financial support, information and additional resources to families, advocates and professionals,” foundation spokesperson Tim Krentel said.

Tournament registration will open at 11:45 a.m., followed by Shotgun Start at 12:45 p.m. The tournament includes a $50,000 Shootout, raffle prizes and awards ceremony.

“Please come play or donate what you can,” Tim Krentel with the Autism Resource Foundation said.

Event proceeds will allow Autism Resource Foundation to provide scholarships to local families unable to pay for much needed therapy. Proceeds will support the Autism Resource & Knowledge Center to help families and residents with awareness, understanding and assistance.

In addition, tournament proceeds will assist a collaborative effort with regional support organizations and service providers, including public and private schools.

Entry fees are $85 for individuals or $255 for three-man teams. To register online, visit teeoff4autism.eventbrite.com.

“We’re in the business of providing hope, but we need our community’s help,” Krentel said. “We are inviting local businesses and organizations to commit to sponsoring this very important cause. Please consider us in your efforts to provide understanding and awareness through outstanding community service.”

Sponsorship levels include Title, $5,000; Platinum, $1,500; Gold, $1,000; Shootout Sponsor, $500; Lunch Sponsor, $500; Hole in One Sponsor, $250; Special Event Sponsor, $250; and Hole Sponsor, $250. Commitments are due by Sept. 1.
