Fellow students cheer for Special Olympics athletes

MADISON – Rounds of applause and slap-on-the-back encouragement prepared Madison students as they left school on Oct. 24 to attend Special Olympics games.

Classmates lined the hallways to cheer for the students to do their best at the games held at Milton Frank Stadium in Huntsville.

“Madison City Schools gave a champion’s sendoff for students competing in the Special Olympics,” MCS Public Relations Manager John S. Peck said. Students in special needs classes from Columbia and Rainbow elementary school, Liberty Middle School and James Clemens High School entered the games.
