Madison Walmart Supercenter installs innovative pickup towers

MADISON – Walmart announced it has installed a pickup tower in the Walmart Supercenter on Madison Boulevard.

Pickup Towers are 16 feet tall and function like high-tech vending machines, capable of fulfilling a customer’s online order in less than a minute.

“We couldn’t be more excited about unveiling the new pickup tower in our store,” said Madison Blvd. Store Manager Robbie Henslee “Our customers are going to love the convenience and simplicity of this innovation. Now, after ordering ahead through the app or online, they can pick up their orders in less than one minute. It’s going to change the way our community thinks about shopping.”

Using the Pickup Tower

• Simply choose from millions of items available on Walmart.com and select the “Pickup” option at checkout.

• When the item arrives at your local store, an associate loads it into the Pickup Tower and you will receive a notification.

• When you arrive at the store, step up to the Pickup Tower and scan the bar code sent to your smartphone.

• You will receive your order in less than a minute.
