MADISON COUNTY – LifeSouth Community Blood Centers officials ask local residents to help fight blood shortages and to help patients in local hospitals. During the weekend of Aug. 16, registered donors will receive a gift.

As a thank-you, blood donors on Aug. 16, 17 and 18 will receive a free Fandango movie ticket and a T-shirt, Eric Franchois said. Franchois works in Madison as District Community Development Coordinator for LifeSouth.

“Please give blood, support the community blood supply, and enjoy a night at the movies on LifeSouth,” Franchois said. All donors also receive a cholesterol screening.

LifeSouth is the primary provider of blood to 14 major hospitals in North Alabama, including Huntsville Hospital, Marshall Medical Center North and South, Decatur Morgan Hospital, Cullman Regional Medical Center and North Alabama Medical Center.
