Police officer injured in traffic stop, suspect sought

MADISON – Madison Police are still looking for a suspect after a routine traffic stop left an officer with minor injuries on Thanksgiving.

Police said an officer conducted a traffic stop of a motorcycle Thursday afternoon at Balch Road and Amhurst Place around 1:15 p.m.

When authorities ran the tag in showed the vehicle had been reported stolen from Cullman County. A scuffled took place between the officer and the person with the motorcycle, resulting in minor injuries for the officer.

The suspect with the motorcycle escaped and Madison Police are still searching for him.

Police said the suspect is a white male with tattoos on both arms, possibly wearing a brown or black Carhartt jacket and blue jeans.

If anyone has any information about the suspect, they are asked to contact the Madison Police Department.
