MPD makes arrest for encoded data fraud and trafficking in stolen identities
MADISON – Madison Police said they made an arrest for encoded data fraud and trafficking stolen identities.
Authorities said staff members of Covington Credit Union on Madison Boulevard noted a suspicious vehicle in their parking lot on Friday. After observing the occupant, they decided to notify police.
Police said they responded and after investigation, the occupant of the vehicle was found to be in possession of over 100 cards containing stolen debit card information. Ilie Marius Busuioc, age 32, was arrested and charged with encoded data fraud and trafficking in stolen identities. He is being held at the Madison County Jail.
“Madison Police Department would like to thank the observant staff members for making the call and helping stop identity theft,” said MPD Community Relations Officer Teresa Taylor-Duncan.
