Republican Women to host Christmas social

MADISON – Republican Women of Madison will host their 2020 Christmas Social on Dec. 16.

The event will be held at Best Western Plus Madison-Huntsville Hotel at 9035 Madison Blvd. The event will open at 11 a.m. and close around 12:30 p.m.

“We will not have a speaker for this meeting; instead, we are planning some fun activities that we’re sure you will enjoy,” President Sheila Banister said. “Open bar will be in the setting.”

“Join us on Dec. 16 and celebrate Christmas and being a Republican,” Banister said. “As part of our activities, please bring a wrapped ornament that costs no more than $10 to exchange as part of our festivities. Merry Christmas!”

For the luncheon, guests can choose turkey and dressing; pot roast; or salad with chicken.

Guests should make reservations by noon on Dec 11 by emailing to rsvp@rwmadison.org. On this email, include your food option for lunch and your name. Fellowship time will begin at 11 a.m.

The cost for lunch is $15. Guests can pay at the event with cash or check written to Port of Madison restaurant.

Along with Banister, board officers of Republic Women of Madison for 2020-2021 are 1st Vice President – Programs Marcia Parsons; 2nd Vice President – Membership Glenda Neill; Secretary Carol Wissmann; Treasurer Susan Pierce; and Past President Dee L. Voelkel.

Serving in appointed positions are Chaplain Beth Nemati, Facebook Coordinator Debbie Hitchcock, Newsletter Coordinator Sheila Banister, Web Page Coordinators Bijan Nemati and Sheila Banister and Photographer Susan Mathias.

Republican Women of Madison meet monthly on third Wednesdays at Best Western Plus. Meetings are called to order at 11:30 a.m. Keynote speakers are typically political officeholders, candidates or topic experts.
