SpineCare’s Heart & Soul 5K to benefit Special Olympics – Feb. 8

MADISON – SpineCare Chiropractic Medicine is presenting a new event, Heart & Soul 5K Race and 1-Mile Fun Run, that will benefit Special Olympics of Madison County.

SpineCare’s staff invites residents to join the event on Feb. 8 “as we come together as a community to support this awesome organization, Special Olympics. The course is an ‘out and back’ and begins in front of the SpineCare/SpineFit Clinic at 11743 County Line Road, Suite A and then turns onto the Bradford Greenway.”

SpineCare invites runners of all levels, along with walkers. “This is a great way to run with your family and friends in a casual and fun environment,” according to SpineCare. Due to insurance restrictions, strollers and animals are not permitted on the course.

SpineCare is proud to support Special Olympics as one of its clients, Elizabeth Allen, prepares to represent the USA in the 2025 World Winter Special Olympics Games for figure skating in Italy. Joining Allen will be two other talented figure skaters from North Alabama who train at Huntsville Ice Sports Center and skate with Huntsville Skating School.

The mission of Special Olympics of Madison County is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition for people with intellectual disabilities, allowing them to realize their full potential and develop their skills.

Registration is open until Race Day on Feb. 8. However, SpineCare recommends registering early, because the race is limited to the first 50 people. In addition, organizers cannot guarantee T-shirt size within two weeks of Race Day.

To register, visit wellnessliving.com/ rs/event/spinefit.

The Heart & Soul race will be an in-person event, rain or shine. The race fee will apply for the T-shirt and benefit Special Olympics of Madison County. All funds are non-refundable. Organizers will accept additional donations.

Packet pick-up at SpineCare/SpineFit, 11743 County Line Road, Suite A on Feb. 7 will run from 5 to 7 p.m. or on Feb. 8 from 7 to 7:30 a.m.

The 5K will start at 8 a.m. The 1-Mile Fun Run’s start time will be 8:15 a.m.

Award presentation is set for 9 a.m. Awards will go to the top overall participant, male and female, in the 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run. All finishers will receive a ribbon.
