James Clemens Band brings ‘Sounds of the Stadium’ from field to auditorium
MADISON – The music, excitement and pageantry that James Clemens High School Band delivered to the field during this marching season will be reprised for a rousing night of showmanship at “Sounds of the Stadium.”
James Clemens Auditorium will be the venue on Nov. 5. Doors will open at 6 p.m., and the performance will start at 6:30 p.m.
Band boosters have described “Sounds of the Stadium” as a highly energetic indoor extravaganza with band, color guard, dance team and drumline performing tunes and routines of marching and competition bands. This unique event is definitely a crowd favorite.
Members of the audience are welcome to attend the Silent Auction with merchandise and services up for bid. Guests can bid on quality merchandise, helpful services and home decor, among other types of deals that can be great gifts. The auction will close at 8:45 p.m.; be sure to visit the auction in time for your bid.
As an added treat for the night, an array of sweet treats of cakes, cookies and pastries will be waiting for the audience to enjoy in the cafeteria.
Tickets are $10 each, available on S2 Pass and at the event (first come, first served).
Event proceeds will help James Clemens Band to fund its program with necessities like new instruments and equipment.
For the 2026 marching season, James Clemens Band presented “Queens of Country,” which enlivened the field with chart-topping favorites from women artists in country music, “Man! I Feel Like a Woman” by Shaina Twain, “Nine to Five” by the late Dolly Parton.
The 2026 Competition Show was entitled, “Leave the Light On”; sources included “Angels in the Architecture” by Frank Tichelli and original music by Jeremy Smith. This performance invoked a young girl who is scared of the dark but receives consolation from her father.
Keith Anderson is Director of Bands at James Clemens, and Brian Sims is Assistant Director. James Clemens Drum Majors are Naima Kasama, Ronan Swenson and Caitlin Locke.
Recently, band members volunteered for a bit of community outreach when they walked from the James Clemens campus to Monark Grove assisted living and performed for the residents, who came outside and on their balconies to enjoy the impromptu concert.
