MADISON — Spices and fantastic hospitality await patrons of Saffron Indian Restaurant on County Line Road.

The new establishment opened up just two months ago and is growing by the week.

Manager Tamil Krishnan said the balance of southern Indian food, northern Indian food and Indo-Chinese fusion make Saffron special.

“Indian food is in itself is very balanced,” he said. “If you go into it, Indian food is like branched on how it is cooked. Some of it might be combined with the spices and some of the items are cream based.”

Dishes like Chicken Curry, Dal and various flavors of Naan bread are among the most popular dishes Krishnan said. The delectable flavor and aroma of the spices is sure to leave each patron with a full stomach and a smile on their face.

“We give a generous portion for each meal and aim to have the customer satisfied,” Krishnan said. “We also will give the option of how spicy they would like their curry to be.”

Lassi, a mango infused drink, is another favorite to go along with each meal.
Krishnan moved to the United States from India. After living in the Maryland area for years, he recently relocated to Madison.

“We love being here in Madison,” he said. “We were looking at other areas but I think we found a perfect spot here.”

The establishment is opened from Monday to Friday for lunch from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Dinner hours are from Monday to Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
