Madison Public Works worked through the night to keep drainage areas unblocked

Madison dodged a bullet Sunday night when severe weather struck the area. Tornadoes wrecked havoc in other places like Boaz, Mississippi, Louisiana and Chattanooga.

The city did have some weather-related issues though. A post from the City of Madison on Facebook highlighted some of the hard work crews with the Public Works department performed through the night.

“The severe weather overnight took a toll on our area, but thankfully Madison only experienced five blocked drainage areas and one tree down,” the Facebook post stated. “Our Public Works team worked through the night to clear the debris.”

The City also posted the following video of water flowing through one of the drainage areas in Madison. If you see an area that is flooding, city officials as that you contact the Public Works department at (256) 772-8490.
